SUNYCAP Header

Greetings,

On behalf of the SUNYCAP Executive Board we would like to thank you for your membership and participation with SUNYCAP. With all the business associated with the beginning of the school year, we would like to remind you that it's almost time to renew your membership. We want to ensure that you and your campus continue to be a part of SUNYCAP. Here are just a few of the exciting benefits associated with SUNYCAP membership:

  • SUNYCAP Leadership Institute: A series of workshops taught by experienced enrollment and admissions professionals designed to assist mid-level professionals in developing the necessary skills to succeed in the enrollment management profession.
  • New Professionals Orientation: Allows new professionals the opportunity to learn best practices for high school visits and college fairs, travel tricks of the trade and to network with other new professionals. This program is not only for those who are new to the profession, but new to SUNY too.
  • SUNY Operation Information sessions: OpInform's are a great way to connect with School Counselors, Directors of Guidance, and College Advisors. These professional development sessions feature SUNY workshops and explore current topics in higher education.
  • New York State Legislative Forum: The New York State Legislative Forum offers conference participants an opportunity to gather and present a unified voice to policy makers. The forum focuses on providing professional development and increasing political awareness to expand educators' role in the legislative process.
  • Grants Scholarships: Access to over $10,000 annually in grant money to attend workshops and conferences across the country
  • 40th Annual SUNYCAP Conference: Admissions and enrollment professionals from the SUNY system will meet in Saratoga Springs, NY from June 16-18, 2010. The conference will include professional development workshops, presentations from all levels of SUNY, and the chance to network with colleagues, vendors, and high school counselors.
Networking: Regardless of your experience in SUNY, SUNYCAP provides opportunities for staff at all levels to network with over 300 members across the SUNY system. By participating in our events throughout the year you'll also be able to network with national vendors, businesses, and representatives from the high school communities.

Even though this year's membership cycle is winding down, there are still exciting professional development opportunities being offered this fall and spring. Please check the rest of this site for the membership application and for information on upcoming events.
